The Ministry of Health recently shut down a water company, City Life Mineral water Incorporated located Caldwell, outside of the Liberian Capital of Monrovia, but the company is now decrying the government’s action saying it was wrongfully shut down by the Liberian government.

The management of City Life said that the government had earlier certificated her after meeting all requirements as prescribed by the Ministry of Health and Standard division of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.

The company told our Monrovia Correspondent that to the dismayed of the company, the company was listed among companies that did not meet standard requirement of producing sachet water, thereby immediately closing the entire operations of the company.

Speaking to reporters Sunday, July 23rd, in the township of Caldwell,  the General Manger of City Life, Mr. Ahaji Omaru Sheriff, said their company is 100 percent Liberian owned and has been mindful of the health and safety of the general public.

“We have consistently seen to it that our company complies individually with all of the various regulatory agencies overseeing the sachet water industry. These include the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the National Standard Laboratory and Environmental Protection Agency,’’ Mr. Sheriff said.

Sheriff said  in all of their interactions as well as the assessment and testing these entities have carried out, their company has come out successfully in compliance with all of the preconditions, qualifications and bench marks that required satisfying prior to being allowed to continue production. He added their employees had to produce their health clearances before gaining employment with our company.

Sheriff also noted that it has come to the attention of the Management of City Life Mineral Water Incorporated that a smear campaign hatched by some detractors in the water industry and unsuspectingly being supported by the National Public Health Institute of Liberia (NPHIL) has been making the rounds since the 17th of July 2017.

Sheriff also call on its customers and the general public not to give any credence to radio announcement and print publication bearing their entity’s name as being among sachet Water companies found not complying with the laws.
