Representative Candidate of Gbarzon Electoral District # 3, Angelo Z. Cooper, has promised a youth inclusion and empowerment initiative in the decision making process of the district.

Cooper, the youngest representative candidate in these elections slated for October 10th this year, says it is time for the young people’s voices to be heard in the country.

Angelo Cooper said young people for so long have been marginalized in development initiatives and participation in key decision making in Liberia, especially in Gbarzon District in Grand Gedeh County.

He argued that those who have been elected to represent the district in National Legislature for over a decade have failed massively in their three cardinal functional responsibilities – lawmaking, representation and oversight. He added that as a result those who elected them regret because of the continued economic constraints they faced.

The youthful politician is vying on the ticket of People’s Unification Party “PUP”.

PUP is a political party chaired by speaker Emmanuel Nuguay was initially not putting up presidential candidate in these 2017. The party has crossed carpet to the ruling Unity Party and its chairman is now the vice standard-bearer to Liberia’s Vice President Joseph N. Boakai, who is gunning for the top job in the country.

In his quest for the representative seat of Gbarzon, Cooper recently distributed sporting materials to more than seven communities in B’hai Administrative District.

Gbarzon District is currently being represented at the House of Representatives by Alex Chesia Grant who was elected 2011 and is seeking second term.

What now seems to confuse citizens is the number of 15 candidates from diverse sections in electoral district # 3 just vying for one seat.

Those contesting for the representative seat of Gbarzon District include incumbent Alex C. Grand of CDC, Angelo Z. Cooper of PUP, K.Z. Emmanuel Pour of MPC, Betty Breeze Dorh of LTP, Helena Deh of UP and T. Wilson Gaye of LP.

Others are William S. Kaiyee of VCP, Ofori Diah of UPP, Maxwell Z. Today, Jacob Debee of LNU, as well as Weafus Quitoe, Phephe Tarlue and Edwar Teah amongst others.
