In less than one week following the mysterious death of a mother of six children, Comfort Glay, several females were seen with placards at the headquarters of the Liberia National Police (LNP) in Buchanan, Grand Bassa calling on the Government of Liberia to fast track the investigation into the death of their compatriot.

The irate and disenchanted women, some of whom are marketers, teachers, caregivers etc., were heard screaming and chanting “we want justice”, “we are tired of being maltreated and abused by men”.

The women spokesperson, Madam Janjay Lloyd, who is also a leader of the New Buchanan Community, told the police that for so long women have been abused, and killed in Grand Bassa County. She noted that women have resolved to remain unbending until justice is served in the death of Comfort Glay.

Addressing the aggrieved women, the LNP County Commander William Johnson says they are pressurizing the investigators to fast track the investigation.

He assured the angry women that by the weekend, the matter will be sent to court. The case expected to be forwarded to the court in Buchanan.

Commander Johnson emphasized that they have not been able to send the case to court because they have been and still compiling pieces of evidence.

Johnson also applauded the women for peacefully exercising their constitutional rights, and assured them that justice will prevail.

Recently, Comfort Glay lifeless body was discovered in the community after dwellers of the community alarmed that she allegedly came running from her boyfriend’s residence pleading for help at about 11:00pm on Monday February 19, 2024. After a few minutes of complaining that her boyfriend was killing her, she felt and died.

Since the puzzling death of Comfort Glay, residents of the community have been calling on the Liberian Government to prosecute the alleged perpetrator, Stanley Moore who is the boyfriend of the late Comfort.
