    LoneStar Ordered to Restore Customers Data and Credits

    The plenary of the House of Representatives has mandated LoneStar Cell MTN GSM Company to restore all its customers’ unused credits, data and promotion packages that expired during the time of bad network.

    Plenary took the decision Thursday, March 7, 2024, following a report proffered by the committee on Post & Telecommunication.

    The committee in its report also recommended that a comprehensive report of the restitution to customers be presented to the Committee on Post and Telecommunication.

    The Committee’s decision to investigate came as a result of River Gee County District #3 Representative, Johnson S. N. Williams, complained to plenary about bad customer service and poor telecommunication services offered by the Network.

    During the investigation, the company acknowledged the situation and  disclosed its plan to improve the quality of service.

     “We are working on upgrading all our sites to 4G by the end of 2024, construct 300 new sites in the rural areas to mitigate satellite sites, ongoing deployment of new generators to its sites, modernization plan and introduction of 5G by 2025, and network expansion,” LoneStar told the lawmakers.

    In that same light Orange Liberia also disclosed its plan to improve the quality of service by upgrading 317 sites, construct 136 new sites before the end of 2024, and request bigger bandwidth and additional frequency from LTA.
