A media advocacy group, under the banner of Margibi Young Journalists Association (MaYJA), has launched a passionate call to the administration of President Joseph Nyuma Boakai to expedite the construction of the C. H. Rennie Hospital in Margibi County.

In 2021, C. H. Rennie Hospital, the only Government referral hospital in the County. was gutted by fire, which disrupted normal activities at the hospital. The fire incident created troubling healthcare environment residents who receive treatment from the hospital.

Due to importance of the hospital, the media group says there is a dire need for the government to urgently rebuild the hospital, adding that it is critical to enhance healthcare infrastructure in the county. The group noted that the limitations of the current healthcare facilities is negatively affecting the residents.

According to the media group, the C. H. Rennie Hospital holds immense significance for the residents of Margibi and other surrounding counties, and it serves as a cornerstone for tertiary healthcare delivery and ensuring access to quality medical services.

The MaYJA averred that the Kakata Health Center, which is currently catering to a large population, is struggling to meet the burgeoning demand for healthcare services due to inadequate space and resources.

The media group emphasized the pressing need for the completion of the C. H. Rennie Hospital to alleviate the strain on existing healthcare facilities and address the healthcare needs for the people of Margibi County.

The expansion and modernization of the hospital, the group noted, will not only enhance healthcare access but also contribute to the overall well-being and development of the community.

Meanwhile, the MaYJA has recommended that the contractor previously engaged by the previous administration to reconstruct the hospital should be retained to carry out the project, stressing that leveraging the expertise and continuity provided by the initial contractor will ensure the seamless continuation of the construction process, minimizing delays and maximizing efficiency.

As advocates for progress and development in Margibi County, the Margibi Young Journalists Association is urging President Joseph Nyuma Boakai and his administration to prioritize the completion of the C. H. Rennie Hospital.

“We stand ready to support and amplify efforts aimed at enhancing healthcare infrastructure and improving the quality of life for all residents of Margibi County”. The group said.
