The Liberian Government Hospital in Buchanan over the weekend received an Ambulance from Save the Children, valued a little over $50,000usd.

Presenting the Ambulance to the Health Facility, Save the Children Acting Country Team Leader Reashue Kammah said the Liberian Government Hospital must see the need to properly make use of the Ambulance.

According to Mr. Kammah the Ambulance was purchased by an International Organization called International Medical Corps.

Receiving the ambulance on behalf of the Liberian Government Hospital, LGH Administrator Isaac Bannie said the gesture is welcoming and will be used for the intended purpose….

At the same time Barely four months now the Liberian Government Hospital in Buchanan has been operating with shortage of drugs amidst several calls by the Health Facility.

Though it is not the first time for the shortage of drugs but the Health Facility Administrator Isaac Bannie explained that for the past four months, patients have been receiving prescription instead of medication.

Mr. Bannie said the situation is deeply affecting the smooth operation of the Hospital as the patients load is reducing daily.

He said the shortage of drugs at LGH can also be attributed to the fire that gutted the building of the National Drugs Service.
