The government deployed Sunday August 13, 2017, armed Police, military and traffic police personnel at the three tollgates. The toll road is the widening of the Wellington-Masiaka highway from two lanes to four lanes. Margai in Freetown, Sierra Leone Inhabitants of Ropath village have complained that quarry operators are posing grave danger to their lives as a result of improperly maintenance to their houses cracked by quarry blast of rocks. Ropath is a small community with its inhabitants mostly farmers. It is situated in Koya Chiefdom, Port Loko District, in northern Sierra Leone. By Joseph Margai, Sierra Leone Correspondent Heavy downpour of rain overnight in the Sierra Leonean capital, Freetown, has caused a landslide killing over 200 people and destroying an unspecified number of houses. The mud and flooding reportedly plunged homes and roads. The death toll is still scanty but sources in Freetown say the fatalities are likely to increase.
