Grand Gedeh’s Konobo District Representative Morias Waylee is out of jail on bail. He filed a bail bond Saturday at the Magisterial Court at the Temple of Justice and was allowed to go home. He was arraigned before his bail was examined and accepted by the Monrovia City Court.
The Liberia national police arrested Waylee Friday, July 14th, from his Capitol Building offices. He was subsequently charged with Conspiracy, Tempering with Criminal Investigation and Tempering with Witness.
But before Saturday morning when he filed his bail, the police augmented his charges and include “Kidnapping”. According to Deputy Police Commissioner Sam Kinford Colllins who appeared on Groove 106FM Friday, Waylee was charged with kidnapping because he has failed to produce the 13-year old rape victim who was staying with him.
All four charges – conspiracy, Tempering with witnesses, tempering with criminal investigation and kidnapping are bailable charges. Morias continues to deny he knew the 13-year old girl whom he was accused of raping and impregnating.
The whereabouts of the victim is unknown currently. She was reportedly taken from the hospital in Tappita, Nimba County where was being treated with the disease “Fistula” and taken to the village to be treated with herbs. Sources say the little girl is still sick, and she and her four-month old baby continues to be shielded away from investigators and journalists.
