Residents of Pleebo Zone 2 Community were in the state of disbelief on Sunday March 3 2024, when a three-year old child who went missing recently was found dead in a pile of mud in a swampy area in Zone 3 Community a stone throw from Zone Two. The lifeless body of little Oumar Dukuly was found after a heavy downpour of rain.
Our Correspondent said, a 15-man jury constituted by the citizens, which included, the Police, doctors/health workers, and the heads from the two communities, have told the communities that there was no foul-play body of little Oumar.
The Correspondent quoted the doctor report as saying that little Oumar’s death was the result of heavy downpour of rain on that fateful Sunday in Pleebo, Maryland County. The parents of the boy were unable to speak with journalists.
The youth leader of zone 2 community and journalist, Raphael Clark, expressed about the situation earlier in the morning when he received a call, while on his way to school, from the chairman of Zone two. Mr. Clark was part of the 15-member jury.
Speaking to journalists, Mr. Samuel G. Natt, Chairman of Zone 2 Community, said that the death of little Oumar was striking sad news. He said when the child went missing, he asked community members to join the family to look for the boy, only to find him in a pile of mud.
Meanwhile, the uncle of the deceased, Mr. Ali Dukuly, said he did not know about his nephew going missing until 6:00pm local time on Sunday. It was after he got the information that he rand to the community radio stations to alert the community and seek help find his nephew. His nephew was found but was already dead.
