Miss Watta Sheriff is dead! She was 27 years old. She died of scourging burns due to the acid her fiancé poured on her face, neck, over the breast and other parts of her body. Watta was tired of constant battering and risked her life to walk away when her fiancé, a man in his 30s identified as Momo Kanneh, poured acid on her to take her life.
Well, he succeeded. His plans worked out because the woman he claimed to love is no more. On the early morning of January 30, 2024, Momo Kanneh attacked Watta in Lowa town, Klay District. Watta was tired of the dehumanizing condition Momo had placed her, but as she ran from one danger, another beset her.
Following the acid attack on the late Sheriff, she was rushed to the Government hospital in Tubmanburg, Bomi County. But the doctors there could not deal with the severity of the burn and transferred her to the JFK Memorial Hospital for further treatment.
