A female Baptist Prelate in Buchanan, Rev. Olivia Weah, is currently engaging a band of street movers, “Zoegoes”, referred in as criminals and drug users in the hop of removing them from the streets and reconnecting them with the families.

Rev. Weah started the initiative to help Zoegoes to rediscover themselves. She said the mission is to bring them back home, which many see as a good effort because it would make the streets save at night.

Zoegoes in Liberia are considered drug users, weed or marijuana smokers, and thieves, who do not only live in the streets, but who also harass and victimize residents at night. These Zoegoes are the nightmare of the locals in the streets of Buchanan.

Rev. Weah told Groove 106FM that she is currently working with over 124 Zoegoes in Grand Bassa County.

The Baptist preacher said although the objective is to reconnect the group she described as “future leaders of the Country” who are now called Zoegoes to find their families, there is a plan to find a safety zone that will make them become productive citizens.

She is called on parents not to drive away their kids who are taking in drugs but show them love which she believes will help them greatly.

Meanwhile, the Zoegoes have expressed appreciation to Rev. Weah for such godly initiative that will shift their lives in the positive direction.

They said the knowledge acquired would greatly transforming them into productive citizens.

They made these assertions over the weekend during an interview with Journalists in Buchanan.
