-41 Students Reports In, 49 More To Be Vetted

Two of the 41 students benefitting from the scholarship scheme of the Konobo Statutory Development Association in the Americas (KSDA), Rose B. Youboty and Neah E. Tardey are being recruited for jobs at the Liberia Bank for Development and Investment (LBDI).

A press release issued by the KSDA says, Rose B. Youboty and Neah E. Tardey were 2016 graduates of the Grand Gedeh County Community College (GGCCC). Both students have “successfully passed the recruitment test of the Liberia Bank for Development & Investment (LBDI), and are currently undergoing training at the bank’s headquarters in Monrovia for subsequent deployment at its branch in Zwedru.”

“KSDA is working out modalities for the other two graduates to secure voluntary or gainful employment with the Liberian Ministry of Education and return to the District to teach for a least a year,” the release said.

    KSDAA Scholarship Student Reports

According to the KSDA administration, headed by Alexander Yallah, the submission of students’ academic records per semester is in fulfillment of an important part of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between KSDA and the Grand Gedeh Technical College.

The KSDA has confirmed that it has received detailed report from the GGCCC of academic performances of 41 Scholarship beneficiaries of the District Association at GGCCC.

The press release said that the reports cover the period September-December, 2016 Academic Semester.

“The reports outline KSDA’s scholarship distribution by academic programs, the scholarship frequency distribution and students’ grades. The reports also include grades of four  beneficiaries who completed their courses at GGCCC in November, 2016, and graduated in December, 2016, with Associate of Arts degrees in Business, Public Administration and Education,” the release said.

Meanwhile, KSDA says its Education Committee is currently preparing to vet a batch of 49 new applicants for scholarship. The district association has since made the development of human resource capacity of Grand Gedeh County and Liberia at large, one of its priorities.

“The College will be notified of qualified applicants and [a request] to admit them, once the vetting process is completed,” the KSDA release said.

In related development, the KSDA National Administration says it “openly extends warm gratitude to donors and contributors to its Education Fund (KEF).” The organization is encouraging more donations, and says all funds donated will be used to provide financial subsidies or scholarships or both to qualified students from Glio, Twabo, Putu and Konobo in particular, and Grand Gedeh County at large.

Monetary and other donations to KSDA and/or its Education Fund are tax deductible. KSDA is a U.S. based 501 (c) (3) Tax Exempt Organization. It is headquartered in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
