Officers of the Liberia Drug Enforcement Agency (LDEA) Margibi detachment have arrested two persons who are said to be dealers of the deadly “Kush” substance.
The two individuals, Moses Sackie, aged 33, and David George, aged 27, were apprehended by LDEA officers for allegedly involvement in dealing drugs, specifically sixteen parcels of the Kush illegal substance, dispensed in plastic containers.
The street value of the seized drugs is estimated to be US$320.00, equivalent to LD$62,400.00.
The LDEA team based in Kakata carried out the arrests on Saturday, March 16, 2024, along the Bong Mines Road in Kakata.
After being questioned by the LDEA, the two accused individuals claimed that it was their first time engaging in the buying and selling of the illicit Kush Drug.
They explained that they acquired $320 from selling 68 coal bags, which was their usual business.
They stated that they decided to purchase and sell 16 parcels of Kush because of its economic potential.
Moses and David, who are being held by the LDEA, are seeking their release with a promise to cease selling Kush.
Meanwhile, the LDEA Margibi detachment has announced to the media that Moses and David will be taken to the appropriate court for further legal proceedings today.
