The Executive Director of NAYMOTE Partners for Democratic Development, Eddie Jawolo, is urging Liberians to hold the Joseph Boakai’s government accountable based on the President’s 111 promises he made during and after the 2023 elections.
Mr. Jawolo told journalists in Gbarnga over the weekend that reminding the government about its promises will put the President and his cabinet feet to the fire to deliver on their commitments.
Jarwolo further urged Liberians not to do business as usual but should ensure their leaders live up to their promises.
He assured Liberians that doing so will ensure accountability in governance and help strengthen democracy in Liberia.
He made the statement when NAYMOTE Partners for Democratic Development held a daylong engagement dialogue with civil society actors, journalists, and community members on NAYMOTE’s ‘President Meter Project’ in Gbarnga.
Jawolo said the project has tracked 111 promises made by President Joseph Boakai. Those promises were tracked from 2023 elections campaign, the Unity Party’s manifestos, the President’s inaugural address, State of the Nation Address, and his 100-day deliverables agenda.
The project began during the administration of former President George Weah. According to NAYMOTE, the erstwhile President completed only 24 of over 200 promises tracked spanning his years in office.
