Development projects of River Gee County are now under scrutiny, and the Legislative Caucus of the County has announced that forensic audit is expected to be conduct of all projects in the County.

Speaking at a news conference in Monrovia recently, the outgoing Legislative Caucus Chairman; Senator Matthew Jay said that many of the projects awarded to local contractors are far from completion while the county has made about 75 percent payment to those contractors.

According to him, despite the huge payment to contractors, many of the projects are at about 40 percent completion, which speaks to the volume of reluctance to the finishing the county’s projects.

“The caucus has reviewed the status report of all ongoing projects and commit to ensuring that these and other projects to come are completed and all necessary fiscal measures regarding River Gee County and the Social Development Funds are robustly followed. The caucus remains united in the cause to develop county, and the invite all citizens, inhabitants, and associates of River Gee County to lend their supports to the county’s leadership, the caucus, and the government as whole for the sole development of River Gee County,” he said.

He named the executive guest in Fish Town, Tienpo Administrative, and Kanweaken Clinic as unfinished projects.

Meanwhile, the caucus overwhelmingly elected River Gee County Electoral District #3 Representative Francis Dopoh as chairman of the caucus, while Representative Francis Young Co-Chairman respectively.

At the same time, Senator Jay has submitted two bills to the plenary of the Liberian Senate seeking the establishment of two courts in the county for possible passage by members of the senate.

The bills entitled; An Act to establish the Sarbo Sweaken Magisterial Court and An Act to establish Karbuken Magisterial Court in Nyen Chiefdom.

The bill were read and forwarded to the senate’s committee on judiciary to advise the senate in subsequent weeks.

Senator Jay said that the two communities those he seeking court establishments are far from the county’s capital, Fish Town and the areas are density populated.
