The Students’ Unification Movement, a student auxiliary in Bong County, is calling on President Joseph Boakai to appoint Lawrence Yallah as Mayor for Gbarnga City, as a manifestation of inclusion of young people in national government.
In a press statement addressed to the President recently, the group said Mr. Yallah is aware of the prevailing situations affecting the city and as such, he is best suited for the job.
The group noted that Mr. Yallah holds a master’s degree in environmental education and management, and he would employ his knowledge to transform the fading appearance of Gbarnga City to a green and ecofriendly city.
“Lawrence Yallah is experienced and competent to manage Gbarnga City,” the group added.
According to the Students’ Unification Movement, Yallah has undertaken several clean-up exercises as part of efforts to giving Gbarnga a facelift, adding that he will curtail rapid waste disposal in the city, when preferred as Mayor of Gbarnga.
The Movement urged President Boakai to foster youth inclusion in his government by nominating and appointing competent young people like Lawrence Yallah to national and county leadership positions.
The student auxiliary has expressed conviction that Lawrence will implement the agenda of the president and deliver on his responsibility efficiently.
