“Exactly one month ago I was taken to court for going live about my experience at the airport,” Jessica wrote on her Facebook page. She was recounting the horror she experienced at the hands of a corrupt and draconian government of Liberia when she exposed the sleazy, wicked and untrained government immigration officers at the Roberts International Airport in Monrovia, Liberia.

On January 26th, Jessica arrived in Monrovia and once at the RIA, two immigration officers, Victor Reeves and Augustine Wolo, not only harassed her but also allegedly took money from her as bribe before they could let her through from the airport. Jessica then went live on Facebook exposing their deeds, much to the dislike of the Government of Liberia.

    WRIT OF ARREST

    GOL MOTION TO DROP CASE

    COURT REVOKES PREVIOUS ORDER

    MAGISTRATE POLICE RETURNS

But writing on her Facebook page, Jessica said, “For lack of evidence, the case would’ve been in court for 3 to 5 years keeping me away from my family. I would’ve been stuck in Liberia for time indefinite unwillingly then found guilty. The God I serve had other plans. He took my pain and turned it to joy. Breaking into a Mighty warrior, you’re great in battle, Jehovah is YOUR name.”

Mrs. Ostrahout’s praises to God stemmed from the Government of Liberia’s Nollie Prosequoi (dropping the case). The made a motion to the Magisterial Court, “Prosecution in the above captioned case enters nolli prosequoi in favor of the Defendant for lack of sufficient evidence and reserve the right to re-file in the future when the need arises.”

The Court had ordered the arrest of Jessica and issued an order barring her from leaving the country. The Writ of Arrest for Jessica read, “The alleged act of the defendant being unlawful, wicked, illegal and international is in violation of section 14.27 of the New Penal Law of Liberia there and then crime herein defendant did do and commit.” Even after describing Jessica in such horrifying way, the government was only to drop the case for lack of evidence.

The charge sheet said, “That during the period of January 23, 2017(2018), the within named defendant who now in the City of Monrovia, purposely and intentionally did accuse the private prosecutors, who also are officers of the Liberian Immigration Service of exploiting, harassing and exorting (extorting) money from her at the Robert International Airport, which said accusation the defendant has placed on Facebook tarniching (tarnishing) the good reputation of the said private prosecutors with the intent to subject the said private prosecutors to hatred and ridicule.”

But for lack of proof and following the nollie prosequoi of the case for lack of evidence, the Court has revoked its order barring Jessica from leaving Liberia, sayig, “Acting upon the order and directive of His Honor, Lasana L. Kamara, Associate Magistrate, Monrovia City Court, Temple of Justice Building, the Writ of Ne Exeat Republica ordered issued out of this Honorable Court against Jessica D. Ostarthout, defendant in the below captioned case to prevent her from leaving the Country to Foreign part is ordered revoked and lifted as the condition for which the said writ was issued no longer exist. More besides, the entire case was Nollie Prosequoi and dismissed by the Court in favor of the defendant. Hence, she is at liberty to travel in and out of the Country freely.”
