His name was Roy M. Belfast Jr in the United States and elsewhere. But in Liberia, he was commonly called Chuckie Taylor or Charles McArthur Emmanuel. He was convicted for torturing multiple unnamed individuals and political opponents in Liberia, while father, Charles McArthur “Ghangay” Taylor was leader of the rebel, National Patriotic Front of Liberia (NPFL) and President of Liberia.
The indictment named several individuals who were tortured or ordered tortured by Chuckie. Some of the victims’ genitalia were cut. A Miami Grand Jury outlined Chuckie evil deeds and federal prosecutors got a 97-year sentence against the former head of Liberia Anti-Terrorist Unit, then “Demon Forces”.
Chucki was found guilty of multiple counts of torture, conspiracy, and firearm abuses, receiving a 97-year federal prison sentence in the United States.
