The Grand Gedeh Association in the Americas wasted no time in rebuking one of its wayward leaders, Mr. Fred Gwyan, the man who was allegedly involved in scandalous activities before his impeachment by the GGAA Board of Directors in 2021. Fred Gwyan et al was sued by the GGAA for charges, including theft, embezzlement, multiple violations of the Association’s constitution.

    READ FULL STATEMENT

In strongly worded statement, the Grand Gedeans umbrella organization said, “The Grand Gedeh Association in the Americas, Inc. (GGAA) issues this statement to clarify recent public discussion concerning the litigation captioned Grand Gedeh Association in the Americas, Inc. v. Fred Gwyan, Jeremiah Shar, Wells Fargo Bank, N.A., and Bank of America Corporation, Case No. CV-2017-010609, in the Court of Common Pleas of Delaware County, Pennsylvania.”

The GGAA’s sharp rebuke was attended to Mr. Gwyan’s claims that a court dismissal of the case against him and Jeremiah Shar indicating myriad alleged improprieties and constitution violation was proof that he was vindicated.

But the statement issued by the GGAA says, “On May 27, 2026, the Court entered a Judgment of Non Pros after a motion was presented in connection with Plaintiff’s failure to prosecute its claims at triabl. The order concluded the pending litigation; however, it did not include findings of fact, did not conduct a trial on the merits, and did not determine the truth or falsity of the underlying allegations raised by GGAA. The Court’s order neither validated nor rejected the underlying allegations asserted by any party.”

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

GGAA Statement Regarding Conclusion of Litigation in Grand Gedeh Association in the Americas, Inc. v. Gwyan, et al.

The Grand Gedeh Association in the Americas, Inc. CV-2017-010609, in the Court of Common Pleas of Delaware County, Pennsylvania.

On May 27, 2026, the Court entered a Judgment of Non Pros after a motion was presented in connection with Plaintiff’s failure to prosecute its claims at trial. The order concluded the pending litigation; however, it did not include findings of fact, did not conduct a trial on the merits, and did not determine the truth or falsity of the underlying allegations raised by GGAA. The Court’s order neither validated nor rejected the underlying allegations asserted by any party.

Accordingly, any public statement suggesting that the Court’s order was a ruling that GGAA’s concerns were false, or that the Court affirmatively exonerated any party, is not an accurate description of what the order says. A procedural disposition is not the same as a verdict after trial, and the Court’s order should not be represented as a judicial determination resolving the disputed factual issues in the case.

Throughout this matter, GGAA maintained that its concerns were based on financial records, bank documents, signed instruments, internal governance materials, and an investigation conducted through the Association’s processes. The conclusion of the litigation does not erase the existence of those records or GGAA’s historical position regarding the events that led to the filing of the lawsuit.

At the same time, GGAA recognizes that the Court’s order brings this litigation to a close. GGAA respects the judicial process and remains focused on its mission of serving the Grand Gedeh community with integrity, transparency, constitutional governance, and unity.

GGAA encourages all members and community stakeholders to discuss this matter responsibly and accurately. Public discussion should reflect what the Court did—and did not—decide. GGAA further urges all members of the Grand Gedeh community to avoid personal attacks, inflammatory rhetoric, and inaccurate characterizations of the Court’s order as the Association continues its work on behalf of the community.

With the litigation concluded, GGAA’s focus remains on serving the Grand Gedeh community, strengthening the Association’s governance, and promoting unity among its members in the Americas and beyond.

Grand Gedeh Association in the Americas, Inc.

Serving the Grand Gedeh Community with Integrity

    Respectfully issued by,

    Madam Edith T. Poah
    National President

    Attested by,

    Hon. Wulu Karlar
    Chair, National Board of Directors
