Bong County Representative Moima Briggs Mensah has raised a red flag over the delay in the budget approval, urging immediate action from the Executive Branch.
Representative Briggs Mensah, in a communication to plenary, expressed frustration over the lack of response from the Executive indicating the expected return of the budget on February 15, 2024.
This silence, she alarmed, has left the budget in a state of uncertainty, with vital programs linked to line ministries hanging in the balance.
Highlighting the critical need for timely budget approval, Rep. Briggs Mensah urged her colleagues to treat the matter with utmost seriousness.
“I think this is not a good start,” asserted the representative, calling for urgent action to address the issue.
To bring clarity to the budget timeline, the Bong County lawmaker called for the Finance Minister’s presence in the plenary, emphasizing the Minister’s crucial role in transparent communication to avoid negative public perception.
