Bong County lawmaker Moimah Briggs Mensah says she and other Israeli-friendly lawmakers in Liberia will work with the Joseph Boakai administration to ensure that Liberia returns its embassy to Jerusalem, Israel.

Speaking at her induction ceremony as head of the Israel Allies Foundation Parliament Caucus of Liberia, Rep, Mensah vowed to strengthen the two countries relationship, noting that they will work with president Boakai for the re-opening of Liberian embassy in Israel.

According to her, Israel and Liberia have always worked together and have won together. “There are things we have in common,” Rep. Mensah asserts, “but what has bonded us together is our Christian faith.”

Bong County District #6 Rep. Moimah Briggs Mensah was inducted as the Chairperson of the Israel Allies Foundation Parliament Caucus of Liberia.

The induction which took place at the Abide in the Vine Fellowship in Jacob Town, Paynesville, on Wednesday January 24th, was graced by members of the 55th legislature.

Rep. Mensah took over the position from former Representative Jimmy Smith of Montserrado County, who was defeated by Representative Sekou Kanneh in the October 10, 2023 legislative elections.

The appointment of Rep. Mensah was made by Josh Reinstein, President of the Israel Allies Foundation (IAF). The IAF, also known as the International Israel Allies Caucus Foundation, is a prominent pro-Israel organization that is collaborating with many parliaments in many different countries.

The IAF was establishment in Liberia 2018, and aimed to mobilize support for Israel and promote Jewish values among parliamentary bodies around the world.

As part of their mandate, Caucus members are expected to oppose legislation that discriminates against Jews and Israelis, among other things.

The Israel Allies Foundation is a non-governmental and a non-profit organization.

Speaking at the program, Speaker J. Fonati Koffa expresses appreciation to the Israel Allies Foundation for selecting honorable Mensah.

Speaker Koffa at the same time encouraged Representative Mensah to continue recruiting pro-Israel lawmakers to strengthen the Caucus.
