Barely 11 days to the kickoff of the official campaign for the October 10th presidential and representative elections, the Federation of Grand Gedeans in Support of Joseph Nyemah Boakai Presidential bid are calling on the entire citizens to throw their support behind Vice President Boakai for President of Liberia.

The group wants young people of the county to divert their minds from the support of the Collation for Democratic Change (CDC) to UP in the up-coming October elections.

The chairman for the Federation of Grand Gedeans in Support of Boakai, Isaac Gweihn Kai, said the young people are the future leaders of the country and their decision should be based on tangible reasons for the development of Liberia.

He spoke to a cross section of citizens predominantly young people at the Amunue Intellectual Forum recently in Zwedru.

Mr. Kai said it is time for Grand Gedeans to turn their political support to the Unity Party standar-bearer for the October polls.

Kai, previously a staunch supporter of the CDC during the 2005 and 2011 election years, now wants grand Gedeans to re-calculate because CDC political leader George Weah meant nothing and lacks the capability of a leader.

According to Kai, there has been numeral communications to Senator Weah to intervene in cases where Grand Gedean felt marginalized by the Sirleaf government but he took no action.

However, other partisans at the forum described the federation’s Chair, Mr. Kai, as a paid agent and someone who wants to wrongly direct the citizens of Gedeh to Boakai for his selfish.
