With just 65 days to Election Day political parties are developing different strategies to win the hearts and votes of the Liberian people. One party that is not sleeping so far and engendering political awareness campaign is the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC). The Party has declared what it called “Blue Day” which climaxes the official launch of the Party’s campaign.

The CDC says it will put two million people in the streets, corners of communities and every sector of the capital to tell the world and other political parties in Liberia that the CDC is ready to make their Standard-bearer, Montserrado County Senator George Manneh Weah to the Executive Mansion in the ensuing. It would practically difficult to measure whether two million CDCians will come out or where there are two million CDCians in Liberia.

The CDC is a coalesced of the National Patriotic Party of former President Charles Taylor, who is facing 50 years jailed sentence in London prison facilities, the Liberian People Democratic Party of criminally indicted former Speaker Alex Tyler and the Congress for Democratic Change of Senator Weah.

Speaking at a news conference on Friday, August 4th, at the Party’s headquarters in Monrovia, Mulbah Morlu, Jr., Vice Chairman for Operations and Mobilization of the CDC, said that the event is intended to send a strong signal to the ruling Unity Party of Vice President Joseph Boakai that gone are their days to hold the national powers and it is time for the Liberian people to change their leaders democratically.

Mr. Morlu, who is contesting in Montserrado County Electoral District #10, said that the October 10, 2017 representatives and presidential elections, has pledged that he should be “crucified if Sen. George Weah did not win the presidency this year”.

“We’re over confident that these elections are for us. Ambassador Weah will win the presidency on a one round victory. The indicators are cleared. Let me be on record for this, if Weah did not win, I shall be crucified,” he said.

It could be recall, during the 2005 Presidential and General elections, Senator Milton Teahjay betted that CDC would have won the presidency, if not so, hair should have grown in his palm, but the CDC did not win and hair did not grow in his palm.

But Morlu said, it is time for the Liberian people to choose their heart desire leader, adding that Weah has being destined by God Almighty to lead the country to a higher height where every citizen will live a middle class life.

Morlu explained that the perception of many oppositions and governing Unity Party that the CDC is only popular in Montserrado County is far from true, saying that CDC has grown in the leeward counties.

“Liberians in those counties are yearning to see Weah and to hear from him about his dream of transforming Liberia to for the better,” Morlu asserted.

Recently, the CDC brought into the country a privet jet to be used for campaign travels since the country is experiencing bad road network due to the heavy down pour of rain
