Grand Bassa County Superintendent Levi Demmah is now embroiled in a land dispute that continues to deepen. The Charley Johnson family has in fact warned the Surperintendent not go ahead with further probe into their land matter involving another family, the Jacobs Family.

The Charley Johnson family informed Groove 106FM last week that Supt. Levi Demmah ordered some people to put stop to a survey they had requested for. The family is furious about the Superintendent’s order.

Our Grand Bassa Correspondent says, the Johnson family is claiming to be the rightful owner of the Land that is situated around Benson River in Lower Harlandsville, Grand Bassa County.

Repaye Johnson and David Zachariah Johnson alleged that Superintendent Demmah wants to take part of their land, stating they have warned the Superintendent to stop or else they will stage a public demonstration against him.

In defense of Superintendent Levi Demmah, the Senior Legal Counsel of the Ministry of Justice on Assignment in Grand Bassa, Cllr. Samuel Jacobs said he was contacted by the office of the Superintendent to probe into the matter to better settle the dispute of the Land in question.

Cllr. Jacobs said he advised the Johnson and Jacobs families to go to court in order to settle the Title in Question.

He has also warned that anyone who will demonstrate without his approval will face the full weight of the law.

Meanwhile, documents in possession of our correspondent from the Center for National Documents & Records says there is no evidence of the existence of the Warranty Deed presented by the Charley Johnson Family and they were issued a letter of Non Discovery.

The problem is said to have derived from a misdirection in the warranty deed.
