What is expected to novel moved by the Coalition for Democratic Change (CDC) is about to occur during the October 10th presidential and legislative elections in Liberia. The Party’s Chairman, Nathaniel McGill says his party will announce the result of the elections before the National Elections Commission (NEC) does so, following the close of polls.

Speaking in an interview with Our Correspondent via mobile phone, CDC Chair Nathaniel McGill told Groove 106FM September 5th morning from Bong County, where CDC is actively campaigning, that the party will not wait for the National Elections Commission to announce the results. He said the CDC would create a war room at its national headquarters where its poll workers around the country will send results via modern technology from polling centers and precincts to the coalition headquarters to be announced and subsequently posted to various media alerts.

Mr. McGill explained that the rationale of the announcement of the results ahead of NEC is intended to deny anyone who had any intention of cheating the CDC. He noted that it is the National Elections Commission duty to declare the winner, but the CDC will not wait on the Commission to announce.

He was however quick to point out that results that will be announced by the CDC will be certified by [political parties poll workers] observers, NEC workers and other observers.

The CDC’s Chairman added that already, the CDC is training over 20,000 poll workers that will be deployed throughout the country, adding that those CDC’s poll workers will be equipped, well financed but with the sole obligation of forwarding results on an hourly basis.

According to him, with such method, the CDC will stand a better chance of being the first political party to know the outcome from polling centers throughout the country and votes intended for the CDC will not be tempered with anyone.

According to him, the CDC has suffered in two separate elections and was cheated of the elections, and at the end of the day the international community and Liberians appeal to the CDC to calm and stabilize the community.

Commenting on the speculations that Mrs. Clar Weah, the wife of CDC’s Standard-bearer George Manneh Weah had reportedly declared that her husband is not prepared to be president,

McGill termed the rumors as ‘total nonsense ‘ and such gossips is reportedly being spread by sacred ‘goats and chickens’ who have already seen their defeat ahead of the conduct of the elections.

“Those that are spreading such falsehood is just total nonsense and such cheap and ungodly gossip is spread by sacred goats and chickens,” he said.

He pointed out that the CDC is set for one round victory, adding that Liberians are tired with hardship and the only bacon of hope for the Liberian people is a CDC-led government.
