MASK OFF: The Hypocrisy of Selective Outrage

–A Response To Eddie D. Jarwolo

    By Jefferson Tamba Koijie

    Jefferson Koijie – The Author

This is indeed sheer hypocrisy from a man who considers himself a renowned civil society practitioner.

Eddie D. Jarwolo, civil society advocate, cannot claim moral authority while his voice becomes selectively loud at some times, but conveniently silent, polluted and seemingly compromised whenever the political circumstances change.

Our country is being haunted by serious allegations surrounding cocaine trafficking and the vicious “cocainegate” controversy. Our young people remain exposed to the destructive consequences of narcotics. Where has Jarwolo’s once thunderous civil society voice gone? Why has it shamelessly vanished precisely when courage, independence and moral clarity are desperately required?

How can you question a genuine advocate and independent media voice whose platform appears to be informing and benefiting our noble people, while refusing to direct the same scrutiny toward those who actually control the machinery of the state?
