KAKATA, Margibi County — A graduating senior of St. Augustine Episcopal Mission High School in Kakata, Margibi County, identified as Kerkula Corpu, has died in a tragic road accident.
The victim reportedly died on Tuesday, September 15, 2026, near the Natural Petroleum (NP) Gas Station.
Preliminary reports indicate that Kerkula was traveling in a red pickup truck loaded with rubber when one of the vehicle’s tires reportedly exploded, causing the driver to panic and lost control of his vehicle.
In an apparent attempt to escape the crash, Kerkula reportedly jumped from the moving vehicle smashing unto the ground, thereby sustaining fatal injuries that caused his life.
His death has shocked his family, classmates, friends, and the wider school community, who were preparing to celebrate his upcoming graduation.
The circumstances surrounding the accident remain under investigation
