    —Margibi Police Commanded Entreats Citizens

By: Benson Matic Mokko Margibi Correspondent

Margibi Co.: Police commander Augustine Hallie of Margibi County has urged community residents to collaborate with the Liberia National Police in combating drug-related crimes in the Country.

In an interview with reporters, Hallie reminded Liberians about President Joseph Boakai’s first State of the Nation Address that highlighted the importance of addressing drug-related challenges in Liberia.

He cautioned that for Liberia to thrive, the participation of all Liberians is crucial in the fight against drugs and substance abuses.

On the other hand, the police commander spoke of the importance of intensifying efforts to address the ongoing drugs issue in the Lango Town community, Margibi County.

He firmly believes that taking further action is crucial to not only addressing the problem but also propelling the Country to new heights.

Furthermore, he revealed that individuals involved in drug abuse and trafficking within the Lango Town community have relocated to neighboring communities, namely Bassa community, Katuhigh community, KRTTI and others.

The police commander provided additional information, stating that a significant number of community residents made numerous arrests on Saturday, February 4, 2024.

He stated that approximately thirteen individuals suspected of dealing or peddling drugs were apprehended with a total of 114 parcels of the deadly drug “Kush” and various other narcotic substances.

Commander Hallie also mentioned that the detained suspects have been handed over to the Liberia Drugs Enforcement Agency (LDEA) for further investigation.

However, the police commander of Margibi County used the medium to appeal to all residents of Margibi, particularly those in Kakata, to collaborate with the joint security forces in order to effectively curb the spread of drugs in Margibi and throughout Liberia.
